NOTE FROM Maxim Toys

Maxim Toys offers several brands... the following are only a few of the toy lines they offer...

PLAYSKOOL - The Playskool Institute was established by Lucille King in 1901 as a division of the John Schroeder Lumber Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. King, an employee at the company, developed wooden toys to use as teaching aids for children in the classroom. In 1935, the Playskool Institute became a division of Thorncraft, Inc., and established offices in Chicago, Illinois. In 1938, Playskool was purchased by the Joseph Lumber Company, where Manuel Fink was placed in charge of operations. In 1940, Fink, along with Robert Meythaler, bought Playskool and established the Playskool Manufacturing Company.

TONKA - On September 18, 1946, Mound Metalcraft was created in Mound, Minnesota with three men as partners, Lynn Everett Baker (18981964), Avery F. Crounse, and Alvin F. Tesch. The first products produced by the fledgling company were two versions of a metal tie-rack. Their original intent was to manufacture garden implements. Their building's former occupant, the Streater Company, had made and patented several toys. E.C. Streater was not interested in the toy business so they approached Mound Metalcraft. The three men at Mound Metalcraft thought they might make a good side line to their other products.

EVEREARTH - All EverEarth packaging is printed on recycled corrugate using soy ink! "Tread Lightly"~ Simpler words have never been more meaningful. We at Maxim Enterprise, Inc. believe that those who have the ability, should have the moral fortitude to act accordingly and do what is right. To us that means taking the necessary steps to lessen our impact on our environment. We do this not only for our benefit, but for the benefit of future generations to come. For over 45 years Maxim has been leading the way in quality wood manufacturing, and we're not about to stop now. The use of reforested land and government approved suppliers is not a new concept to us, and even though most people don't know it, we've been manufacturing "Green" product for quite some time now. Our EverEarth(TM) line of toys has taken this process one step further, and was created keeping not only the safety of our earth in mind but also the safety of our children. The EverEarth(TM) line is kid safe, eco friendly, and manufactured with wood taken from renewable forests, as well as recycled rubber wood. We've also taken care to only use water color based paints that contain less chemicals than the traditional acrylic paints used by most manufactures. Every "little" step we can take is a "big" step in the right direction. By constantly trying to improve upon our manufacturing process we have also been accredited as an ICTI certified factory that adheres to all international manufacturing standards. Our hope is that others will also take the "eco" high ground and follow our lead for a better tomorrow. We have also launched a Personal Sustainability Project (PSP) in which we challenge our employees to integrate small changes in their personal lives to help benefit their lives and the environment. Green Today... Here Tomorrow.
